To Enrich and Inspire Our Community Through Choral Music
Your support will enable us to succeed in our mission!
The Nielsen Chorale was created to enrich and inspire our community through choral music, and to serve as the resident chorus of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. Named to honor the memory and achievements of Ralph Nielsen, the founder of Rockford’s choral music tradition, the Chorale is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization now in its fourth season.
As the end of the calendar year approaches, the Chorale joins the RSO to "Celebrate the Season" in the December 16 Holiday Pops Concert, conducted by Pecatonica native and renowned Broadway conductor Kevin Stites. Next, the Chorale joins RSO's new Music Director Yaniv Attar on February 10 to sing the first performance of Brahms' exquisite Nänie.
On April 27, the Chorale will present "La Serenissima: Music of Venice," with soloists and members of the RSO. Featuring choral, solo, and instrumental music by Venetian composers Claudio Monteverdi, Giovanni Gabrieli, and Antonio Vivaldi, this concert captures the magic of the beautiful "City of Water", whose nickname, La Serenissima, translates as "The Most Serene."
Donations to the Nielsen Chorale ensure that the tradition of choral music created by Ralph Nielsen many years ago will continue. Help the Chorale carry on Ralph’s dreams, lifting them to new and exciting levels of excellence. Please support the Nielsen Chorale today!
